Crappy Crabs

What is "crabmeat?" I can personally name 4 or 5 different types of crabs; blue, stone, dungenes. So, when I look on my grocers shelf and see canned "crabmeat" - what the hell is it? Being from Baltimore I am quite familiar with the "Phillips" name for Chesapeake bay crab (blue calinectus sapidus) restuarants at the "inner harbor" and Ocean city (MD). How pleased I was when I found the Phillips brand crabmeat being sold at my local store here in Greenville NC...until I did a further inspection of the three different grades of meat and found one was a "product of Indonesia, one from India, and the third from Korea." Aghast, I e-mailed Phillips and asked what the devil was up. Their response was that they processed products from all over Southeast Asia. How sad. How deceitful.
